Oh people!

Today at 4 0'clock I will be taking my drivers license test. Please pray! I want to drive places!

And also, does anyone have a car that I can have?

Do I like rap music?

Matisyahu's newest album is making me feel like I do alot more than I did before. I love it when people can rhyme about things that aren't of this world, things that are holy, set apart, of God, and not things that are finite, temporal, disgusting, and distasteful to the heart of God.

Romans 12:9
"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good."

Merely What?

If you don't know this about me already, I like to read good books. Lately I've been reading William Lane Craig's Reasonable Faith: Christian Truths and Apologetics - Third Edition. But just last night my good friend gave me a book to borrow called Mere Christianity by that gnarly man known as C. S. Lewis, the author of The Chronicles of Narnia.

Who wouldn't be stoked on that?

This is what I do in 3rd period

Jesus, have mercy.

You gypsy!

I was in third period and decided to do an internet search. Here's what it came up with:

-The Bible is the world’s best-selling book. The bible is also the world’s most shoplifted book. Must be those Gideon bibles in the motel rooms getting shop lifted.

Watch me tumbl!

I dislike blogspot very much. After tasting and seeing that tumblr is good, I just can't stand anything else.

Blogspot, step it up.

And here's a quote to chew on while your doing that:

"To suppose that the eye could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree."
-Charles Darwin, 1872

This is that sweet girl that everyone has been hearing about. She's got people praying for her literally across the world. Her name is Daisy Love Merrick, and she was diagnosed with cancerous Wilms Tumor. It was the largest tumor that cottage hospital has seen yet - about the size of a Nerf Football extending into her pelvis and up against her lungs. Praise God the doctors got the whole tumor out! But the battle is not over. She had stage three cancer so they are looking at 7 months of chemotherapy, and possible radiation. Please pray for this girl in that she would 1)be strong, 2)have her bowels function properly, 3)that her and her family would continue to love Jesus and trust him, and 4) that no radiation would be needed.

Thank God It's Friday!

Sometimes sleeping life can get a bit difficult to deal with, especially during the school year. This is how a typical school day goes for me:
-6:30am - wake up at (after hitting snooze 6 times)
-7:00am - take shuttle over to Juan's house
    -7:26am - wake Juany up
-7:45am - start school very tired
-7:45am-12:09pm - waiting for lunch because I forgot to eat breakfast
    -12:09pm - eat lunch
-sometime after lunch - endure extreme tiredness without the help of Reimel's monotone voice
-6th period - ceramics! This class is great!
-3:00pm - get home and accidentally fall asleep on the couch
-11:pm - struggle to fall asleep after brushing teeth with minty tooth paste wakes me up

That's why I love Friday's so much. Because I have the joy of looking forward to Saturday.

Thank God it's Friday!

Reasonable Faith: Christian Truth and Apologetics by William Lane Craig

I just recently started this book. I'm only a good couple pages in and it's definitely the most intellectual reading I have done. The book gives Christian Truths and Apologetics from Dr. William Lane Craig's perspective (go figure).

In the book so far, Craig has given some of the historical background of Christian apologetics and has discussed the roles of the Holy Spirit and Apologetics in knowing that Christianity is true.

Although I do not understand his view completely on the Holy Spirit, and although I feel as though I might disagree with that certain topic, I am eager to continue reading this book and hopefully I will be able to understand it all. Maybe it'll be easier when I've actually got food in my stomach (unlike right now)!

Daisy Love Merrick

Last night Daisy was hospitalized after a fall on the playground. The doctors found severe internal bleeding and looking closer they found a cancerous tumor known as a Wilms Tumor. Wilms Tumors are typically found in young children under the age of 5. Daisy is 5 now.

Britt Merrick, her father, said this last night:
"Our oncologist said that he is 80% sure that Daisy has a Wilms' Tumor.
That is a malignant tumor. It is cancer but a highly curable form.
They will operate Wednesday or Thursday and depending on the size of the tumor they will either take it all out or just some of it.
Daisy will have to have chemo therapy either way.
That is all we know now and will not have any definitive answers for a couple days."

Pray that:
  • Please pray that the tumor removal surgery would be scheduled as soon as possible. Her biopsy has to be done first…
  • Please pray that the biopsy procedure of the tumor today would go well …
  • Please pray for good results from the biopsy
  • Please pray that the doctors will have a PRECISE understanding of the level of chemo that will be needed after the surgery…the lowest amount for Daisy’s body and the strongest amount needed to completely eradicate any cancer cells
  • Please pray that the surgery will COMPLETELY remove the tumor…if part of the tumor is inoperable it complicates her recovery severely.

Reinstated!

My third period multimedia teacher is now making all his students start blogs on blogspot. I asked if I could keep on using my tumblr account.

I guess not.

So now, I am reinstating the updating of my blog Splurge of the Moment!

So, as required (I think), I am going to tell you about myself. I'm a 16 year old boy going to Carpinteria Highschool. I play guitar and bass and a bit of piano. I also love apologetics and through my studies I have become firmly rooted in my beliefs of Christianity. If you've got any questions for me or want to say anything, comment it up!

Hope you all enjoy, my non-existent readers.

P.S. If you really do exist, please leave a comment so I can feel good about myself again.
